How to select the transformer for LED strips?
When you buy a led strip, you also need to buy a transformer for it. Here are a few things to take into consideration before selecting the right transformer:
Is the led strip 12V or 24V?Select the transformer to match the voltage of the strip!
Does the transformer need to be water resistant or not? The IP-class tells you the protection level. For example IP20 is not water resistant. The second digit of the IP-number tells you the water protection and the first digit is for the dust (ingress of solidobjects). Higher the number, better the protection.
The length and the power consumption of the led strip determines the size (in watts) of the driver. We always recommed to select a transformer that is at least +10% bigger than needed for it to last longer.
Do you need to dim the led strip and how do you want to do it? Transformer dimming options include:

What is COB led strip?
COB stands for Chips on Board, which means that the chip is directly packaged on the PCB. The COB light strip is a light strip that encapsulates the chip on a flexible board. Chips mostly use flip-chips, which are linearly solid-bonded on the PCB, and then a layer of packaging glue mixed with phosphor is directly dropped on the surface of the chip. The light emitted by the chip is refracted, reflected, and interacted with the phosphor inside the encapsulating gel. The gel uniformly emits light of different colors and color temperatures.
What is the constant current led strip?
Conventional LED strips are constant voltage led strips. One disadvantage of constant voltage strip is that there is a voltage drop across the board. When the series length exceeds several metres, the brightness between the first part and the end part of the led strip will be inconsistent.
In order to solve this problem, the constant current led strip is born.The constant current led strip is based on the traditional constant voltage led strip circuit, and a constant current IC chip is added to each group of led circuit loops to automatically adjust the voltage of the LED in the loop to operate at the rated voltage. The brightness of the head and tail of the led strip will remain the same.

· 4000K (Natural White): A clean, neutral light. Perfect for kitchens, home offices, bathrooms, and workspaces.

· Pro Tip: For residential ambient lighting, 2700K-3000K is the most popular and comfortable choice.
2. Color Rendering Index (CRI) - The "Quality" of Light

· CRI < 80: Poor color accuracy. Not recommended.

· What it is: The voltage required for the strip to operate.

· DC12V (Low Voltage): Common and safe. Easy to install and cut. Suffers from "voltage drop"—the strip will get dimmer after a certain length (typically 5-7 meters).
· DC24V (Low Voltage): Highly Recommended! Experiences less voltage drop, allowing for longer single runs (10-15 meters) without losing brightness. More stable and efficient for larger projects.
4. Power & Luminous Flux - The "Brightness"
· Power (Wattage per Meter): How much electricity the strip consumes per meter. Higher wattage generally means higher brightness and more heat.
· Luminous Flux (Lumens per Meter): The total amount of visible light emitted per meter. This is the true measure of brightness.
· How to Choose:
· Low Power (~5-8W/m): Perfect for subtle accent and mood lighting (e.g., cove ceilings).
· Medium-High Power (~10-16W/m): Ideal for functional task lighting (e.g., under-cabinet, wardrobe interiors).

· High-quality silicone encapsulation provides excellent flexibility for curved surfaces and offers good protection against moisture and dust (look for IP ratings like IP20, IP65, IP67 for outdoor/ damp use).

1. LED Power Supply/Driver
· Sizing Calculation: Power Supply Wattage > (Total Length of Strip × Wattage per Meter) × 1.2 (Safety Margin).
· Example: For a 5-meter strip rated at 14.4W/m: Total Wattage = 5 × 14.4W = 72W. Required Supply = 72W × 1.2 = 86.4W. So, choose a 100W power supply.
· Rule: Never overload the power supply. Choosing a larger capacity unit ensures stability and longevity.
2. Controller
· Dimmer: For dimming, you need a controller that supports PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) dimming for flicker-free performance.
· Smart Controller: To enable control via smartphone apps, voice assistants (Alexa, Google Home), or smart home systems, you need a compatible smart controller.
3. Aluminum Profile / Channel

· Why?
